Hallo Familie!
I hope that you all had a good week and that you all thought about me just a little bit. haha just kidding. You don't have to think about me if you don't want to. It don't matter to me;) (that was for you dad)
I'm sorry but I forgot my planner again so my week might not be as detailed as some weeks but I will try my best to tell you about some of the highlights.
On Monday night we got a text from a guy named Eric that said he was New Apostolic and had heard about Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon and wanted to know more. He had gotten our info by going through the Church social media. He had gotten in contact with a member in Hamburg and had gotten our contact info from him. We Met with him on Tuesday and found out that he is so legit. To make a long story short he is 21, he was baptized into the New Apostolic church a year ago and is the only religious person in his family. He recently saw a biography of Joseph Smith and it kind of piqued his interest. He had so much respect for Joseph and thought that the whole story was just amazing. The fact that we could have a prophet again amazed him. He is really excited to read the Book of Mormon and really wants to try to come to General Conference. Our impression of him is that he "found god" and then heard a little bit more about Joseph Smith and now he's questioning whether or not his original religion choice was 100% complete. We're pretty excited to meet with him again. We had a little exchange for a couple of hours on Tuesday with the APs so it was me and Elder Hansen who went to the app.
We taught English class on Wednesday and it was cool because a less active named Bill came. He is from Afghanistan. He's really funny and just a nice guy.
On Thursday we had exchanges again and this time I went to Hannover with Elder Atkinson. We had a bunch of appointments with some recent converts from Africa and then we went to this little town that is actually a British Military base. The Elders there call it "Little England" because all the people speak english and have British cars. It's really weird to see cars with the steering wheel on the right side of the car. It was kinda fun to speak English with a lot of people and to just see a little bit of a different culture. That place is a gold mine though. We rang this guys door bell and he just invited us in before he even knew who we were. According to Atkinson that happens a lot there haha.
We got to have an eating appointment with a member yesterday who lives in a crazy big house. Big houses are not common at all here. Just so you understand a little bit, the town house we lived in in Draper would be a very normal if not a little big for a family our size. Old guy and lady are very rich:) It was fun to see all the cool stuff they had. Oh and just for Brennan, the guy had a very, very cool secret door behind one of his bookcases that led to his "workshop". It made me laugh and think of you because it was exactly what you wanted.
We also found a bunch of potential investigators through finding this week so I would say we had a pretty good week:)
Well that was pretty much my week. In terms of things I need or maybe want...I don't know if this is something that counts but I could use like 4 more pairs of cotton garments. The mesh ones have been kind of falling apart. But if you could get the 1-piece short sleeved and legged cotton ones that would be cool. Haha I don't know if you want to send them with her... but that's pretty much all I could think of right now. I guess it would be ok. Oh and maybe some Reeses candy and a jar of smooth Skippy Peanut Butter haha. The garments are definitely more important but the Peanut Butter would be awesome. I miss it and it's crazy expensive here.
Well I love you guys. I hope that you all have a wonderful week. Know that God loves you and so do I!
Ich wünsche euch alles güte!
Tschüß!
