Happy Pfingsten! June 9, 2104

Moin moin Familie!

Today is Pfingsten or Pentecost in English. Apparently it's a big deal. All I know is we have to wait till tomorrow to buy our groceries.
It sounds like everything is going well in the new house. Just be grateful that no matter how hot it gets in Utah, you don't have to deal with humidity:)
Well this last week was pretty slow moving for me. We only had one bloody lesson. Eh it was alright but I was hoping that my days of walking around for 8 hours talking to people and getting rejection after rejection were over;)

Our one appointment was with Stavros. We may have only had one app but it was a big one! We had invited him a few weeks ago to be baptized on the 21st of June and he didn't really accept it. He told us that he didn't think that he would be ready and said no. Right before our lesson with him he was talking with Hoang, and I overheard Hoang say " What!? your getting baptized on the 21st? That's great! Who are you going to have do it?" Needless to say I was a little surprised and worried. We started the lesson and I asked him about it. We hadn't really been planning on the 21st because he said no. He told us that he had been thinking about it and he really wants to do it. I told him quite honestly that he probably won't be ready by then but that we can definitely set a date and start working towards it. We proposed the second week of July and he declined and told us that he liked the 21st of June! We reminded him that he has to make some serious changes in the next couple weeks and then he responded with "Is not everything possible?." We compromised and made a date for the 28th of June. We started him on a stop smoking program and now we are just working towards baptism! We are pretty pumped. I will be putting my trust in the Lord and him over the next few weeks and hoping that it all goes according to plan.

The Mission Conference in Berlin was great. Elder Dyches of the Seventy was there and he gave a great message about being more diligent missionaries with a purpose. It was fun to see some people that I hadn't seen since the MTC too. Elder Brower and Sister Killpack were both there and they are in my MTC group. There were also a bunch of other friends there as well like Cory Johnston. Big mission meetings are great.

Oh ya my hand! Haha I did meet with the surgeon on Tuesday and I had an ultrasound on my hand as well as some x-rays. They did find a small piece of glass about 1mm in length. The problem with a piece this small is that it's not as easy to remove. Once they cut the hand open with all the blood and stuff it would be almost impossible to find and remove. So what they can do is numb my whole arm and then cut out a small chunk of my hand out (about the size of a bean) and then hope that the piece is in that chunk. It's great! They told me that it isn't life threatening at this point but that if it causes pain they can have it removed. I talked with sister kosak and told her that I kind of want it removed so now I just have to get in contact with the surgeon again and make and OP date! I will be glad when it's just all over.

Well this next week will comprise of a lot of contact work and finding so...yay! It will be long and hot but it will be awesome. I hope you all have a great week! I love you all!

1. A pretty wall with lots of roses. I thought it was cool.
2. A field we rode through trying to find some contacts
3. The Meyer familie gave us some Root Beer that they got from a Military Base in Frankfurt. Root Beer doesn't really exist here. It's amazing what you find yourself missing when you don't have it:)
