What up family! April 14, 2014

Moin moin meine liebe Familie!

I hope that you have all had a great week! My week was good and went by really fast. We had a lot of meetings and that helped things to just kind of cruise by.
On Tuesday Elder Roberts had a Leadership meeting in Hamburg so I spent the Day in Celle. We had to get up early at like 5:15 in order for Roberts to catch his train at 7:30. That is never a welcome event, to have to wake up early but I'm a missionary and my wants and desires aren't really at the top of the list of priorities:) I had a great day in Celle with Elder Loitz and Weakly. They are both really cool guys and we had a good day walking around and getting soaked in the rain. Well I guess it was me that got soaked. When it rains here it's not so much like rain that falls in one direction but rather it feels as though in is falling in every direction, including from the ground. We stopped an ate at a really good Italian Pizza place. It wasn't quite as good as Settabellos but it was a good second;) I included a picture of the one that I got. We got home at about 7:30 that night so it took up pretty much the whole day.

On Wednesday we had Zone Training Meeting in Hannover. It was also really good. A couple of the Missionary companionships gave some short little lessons and then the Zone leaders gave a lesson as well. Its starting to hit me that I may not be too "old" on the mission yet but a lot of the people that I know are going or have gone home. You just start to notice that you don't know as many people at big meetings and there are just a lot of missionaries that haven't been out as long as you. It's weird to start to drift more into the "senior" group of missionaries even when I still feel like a noob. It shows that this life is never about "reaching the summit." There is always another mountain and we will always progress as long as week keep our heads up. Life is for living, just keep breathing and keep putting one foot in front of the other.

Thursday and Friday were fairly normal. We met with Jürgen and shared a conference talk with him. We used Elder Bednar's talk and he really liked it. He said his favorite part was when Elder Bednar bore his testimony at the end because he could feel something. It was a good lesson and he wants to listen to more so he asked us to find more that are good. Jürgen is a good guy and I enjoy meeting with him. I know that someday he will make the decision to stop smoking. We had Ping Pong on Friday and that was fun as well. It is a nice recharge for the week. We met with Stavros before Ping Pong as well and it was funny because he came to us and said he was going to live the word of wisdom. It was a complete turn around because last week he was against it.

To finish up real quick Yesterday we watched the final session of Conference in Church so now I have finally seen the whole thing! It was really good and I have definitely seen a mighty change in my liking of Conference. It really is such a huge recharge and it helps me refocus on who I should be and how I should live. Conference is legitimate. After Church we taught Herr Thunert and it was hilariously awesome. We read a talk by President Monson and really tried to help him believe that he is a prophet. We read the talk and then he started to tell us that he wasn't a Prophet and went on for about 10 min. About halfway through he slowly started to just change his mind and by the end of his little speech he had talked himself into believing that Pres. Monson is a Prophet. It was really cool and kind of funny to watch the Spirit work in the mind and heart of another person. We didn't have to say a single word and we didn't. We just sat and let him talk himself into believing. Herr Thunert is one of my favorite people ever. He is one of the funniest old men I have ever met and he always makes my happy after we meet with him.

Well that was pretty much my week. No, the pictures of the house don't make me homesick. I don't really feel super homesick any more. Ya I still miss home but it's not something that bothers me anymore. I know that I will come home at the end of my time and knowing that makes it easy to not worry about stuff that I am missing. Having less than a year does kind of feel weird. I have been thinking about talking to President about trying to get an extension but so far it just doesn't feel right. I will still think and pray about it but I will let you know:) As far as you coming to pick me up or not I don't know:) I don't really have an opinion right now. I would be happy with either situation but I really want to come with you guys here and show you around Germany an introduce you to everyone:) I will think about what sounds better.

Thank you to all of you that write me each week. Especially you mom and dad. I really love reading each week what you did or what you taught in church and how the deacons are annoying...;) haha I hope you all know that I look forward to reading what you all did. I try to answer all the questions you have but if I forget one or if you have more feel free to ask. I wish you all a happy week and hope that everything goes well for you with Easter. I love you all!

Bis nächste woche!

Elder Trevor Bone

P.S. Sorry I didn't write long individual letters today. I read them all and I will respond more next week!

3.Cool stream we found the other day after we walked through a park. I know it looks like we just wandered into the woods and wasted time but we didn't! There is a soccer field just to the left.
