Moin Moin! April 21,2014

Hallo Meine Liebe Familie!

I hope that everything is going good back in the USA and that you all had a great week. This week went by really fast and I guess I could just say that with my time here in Hildesheim. Every week just seems to fly by. I had a really good Easter Week. Easter is a huge holiday here. Its almost as big as Christmas. Their Spring break is like 2 and a half weeks. Well I don't have a lot of time so I will just go into what I did this week.

On Tuesday we had a family home evening thing that we brought our investigators to and the Borscherding family. It was fun and we colored Easter eggs. We brought Herr Thunert, the old man that we teach every Sunday. He is a funny old man.

On Wednesday we helped a family in their Garden. The Meyer family needed help to cleanup their yard and garden. Brother Meyer just had surgery to remove a tumor from his face. It wasn't cancerous but he is supposed to rest so we came and spent a lot of the day trimming their bushes and trees and stuff. They made us pizza too so it was a good time. We finished the day with our English Class.

Thursday we also helped another member, a less active in his garden. He is trying to build a wooden stand thing for his tomatoes so we stopped by and helped him out a little bit. He also lives alone and doesn't really have any friends so it's nice to give him some human interaction as well because he gets really lonely.

Friday we did Weekly Planning and then had Ping Pong. Nothing too special but it was a good day. We also met with Stavros right before Ping Pong and had a really good appointment with him. He told us that he has been thinking a lot about "becoming mormon" and he is talking with God about whether or not he should. It's hard for him because he and his whole family are Greek Orthodox and it's a pretty big deal for him to leave. We told him to read and pray every single day and he will get and answer.

On Saturday we did a ton of Finding and we found a really cool lady! She is about thirty and she is a Gypsy. She is Catholic and loves the Bible. We gave her a Book of Mormon and she was pretty excited about it and said that she had a good feeling about it. Oh ya her name is Melody.

Yesterday was a really good day. One it was Easter and two...yah it was just a good day:) He had a good Church Meeting and a bunch of visitors. the Voglers were also there! The are from Meißen and he is the Branch President there. There are such an awesome family and some of my favorite people so it was really fun to see them all again. After church we went to the Jensens for lunch. We had some really good curry chicken with rice and for dessert we had Strawberry Quark, one of my favorites:) Later that day we were invited back to the Meyers to go to their neighborhood Eater Celebration/Fire. It was just a good day.

Well that was pretty much my week.I will see about contacting Johanna. Um...I think that was everything. I hope that you all have a great week and that everything goes well. I love you all! May the Force be with you.

Tschüß!
