Schönen guten Tag! June 30, 2014

Moin!

I hope that you all have had a great week. This last week was good for me. We found some new people on Friday that hopefully will become new investigators. I have some saddening news about Stavros as well. We had a lesson with him on Saturday night and it started off super good. We quickly reviewed the first lesson and then had him teach us, pretending that we were investigators. It was actually very astonishing to see how much he actually understood and knew. It surprised me and I definitely felt the spirit as he talked and testified to us that the message was true and how we could find out for ourselves. We were kind of finishing up the lesson as a whole when he sort of just flipped a 180 and told us that he couldn't get baptized because he wasn't ready. He explained his concerns and fears that he will relapse into his old lifestyle after he is baptized. He doesn't want to be a bad member and said he didn't think it was right. He told us he had prayed and the answer he got is that God has a different path for him. Be bore our testimonies that the true path God has for all of us will always lead us to his true church. He confessed that he still has a testimony but just isn't ready and wouldn't go through with the baptismal date. After our lesson we saw him still smoking as he walked away and we think that that is the key. He is lying to us about not smoking because he is embarrassed and that is why he doesn't want to be baptized . We will be meeting with him a couple of times this week and he said he will still come to church so we just have to keep working and praying for him. I still believe that its not a matter of it but rather when.

Jürgen is still doing good as well but theres just not a whole lot new to report. We still just meet with hime a couple times a week with not a whole lot of progress but we don't give up:)

This last week we got a nice surprise from Pres. Kosak when he let the whole mission watch the Germany vs USA game. We watched it at the Renneke's, a members house. It was really fun and a little bit weird to watch "worldly things" again;) After the game it wasn't too crazy but it is funny to watch Germans drive around like maniacs with flags and stuff, sitting out the windows, honking and screaming like crazy. I should have taken a video! We also have permission to watch the final when it happens so it should be fun:)

Well that was it for our week. I don'*t have a lot more to say haha. I hope you all have a good 4th of July without me. Kinda weird thinking that this is the second and last one I will miss. We will try to go somewhere American:) I hope you all have a great week! love you!

Pictures: One is a dead bird that was outside the church today as we came to do emails and the other is the view from our apartment...at 10:00 pm! It's ridiculous how long it stays bright here. The sun is also up at like 4:30-5 am! it's crazy!
