Moin moin familie!
I hope that you all had a good week! This week was a good one for me but then I guess I say that every week sooo compared to all my other weeks I guess it was just average:)
This last week we met with George again. He is the one from Arizona. We kind of had an ultimatum lesson where we talked about our purpose and told him that we love talking about America but that our purpose is to talk about God and to help him strengthen his relationship with him. He told us that he had always wondered why the Missionaries kept coming back. We kind of laughed and told him that we want to keep coming but we need to stay more focused on why we are here. He said he would like us to keep coming and is more than OK if we pick a topic and prepare a lesson. He had a lot of questions and told us that he went to a Temple open house back in America. He told us that he thought that it was amazing but then told me one of the funniest things I've ever heard. When they were going by the baptismal font he was so surprised that he yelled out loud "Whoah! You guys have a jacuzzi on cows!" We both laughed for a good 30 seconds or so. He is a hilarious guy. He kind of reminds me of the dad on the movie Tron, Kevin Flynn. (the guy that Jeff Bridges plays).
We also met with a guy named Ben. He is the other American from Texas. We visited him at his house this time. It was pretty funny because he offered to pick us up from the train station because he lives in a small village near Bad Segeberg. We got in the car and he asked if we wanted to go get some food. We actually hadn't eaten anything that day since early in the morning and he then took us to some Greek restaurant and bought us dinner. Then he took us to his house and showed us some of his guns. He has some really expensive old guns from the 1800s. It was pretty cool. He will be going back to the Hospital today so we will probly visit him again Wednesday.
We had a pretty cool experience yesterday. On Saturday we were walking home from the church and passed some Bulgarian men and tried to talk with them. They couldn't really speak German or English . We couldn't really communicate because of the language barrier but we were able to tell them that the church just around the corner was ours and that it our service was the next day at 9:30. At church the next day they actually showed up which was actually a big surprise to me. I wasn't even sure that they understood what we said but the spirit helped them understand. We then found out that one of them spoke a little Romanian and our new convert, Liviu (who is Romanian) could talk with them. They were really funny guys and they said they would come back. We are going to also try to meet with them with Liviu translating for us.
There were also two other guys that showed up unexpectedly. One of them was a man that a member had talked to on the street and invited him to church. He didn't have time this week to meet with us but he said we could make an appointment next week.
The other guy was a man who just randomly showed up. He was a little wierd and we are all pretty sure he was on some kind of drugs. He was from Poland but has lived in Israel, Canada and a couple other places. He knew about the church and has read the Book of Mormon but had some pretty strong feelings against it an the fact that we have temples. He wouldn't tell us his name and didn't want us to "follow him". Yah he was kinda...interesting.
That was pretty much it. The picture was just a picture I took in Kiel when we were there on Thursday. We had a leadership meeting with the Zone Leaders there.
I hope you all have a great week! I love you!
