Week 6 in Neumünster, September 1, 2014

Moin moin!

Well it's the last week of this transfer. It seems unreal that it has already been 5 weeks here in Neumünster. The time just seems to keep going by faster and faster. Every transfer seems faster than the last.
This last week on Monday night we had exchanges with the Zone Leaders. I was here in NM with E. Ashmead. He is really cool and a super chill guy. We did some finding in NM and also had an appointment with a Chinese woman. It was cool but there was a pretty big language barrier. We had the Restoration video in Chinese but she didn't really understand it. It's just hard because there are around 15,000 Chinese characters. The average Chinese person knows around 2-3,000 after schooling and usually none of those have to do with religion. Most of them have absolutely no religious background at all and don't even know who Jesus is. It just made it impossible to teach without translation to be able to describe the different terms. We also met with Herr Sturm again. He is really nice and still very much atheist haha:) We will still keep going by but we have to find something to catch his attention and make him want to try to find God. We also taught Frau Jürgensen. She was really nice and we taught her the Restoration. She was a little skeptical but was actually pretty curious about the Book of Mormon. We have tried to give her one before and she was not open to it at all but this time we set it in front of her and she picked it up immediately. She flipped through it a little bit and then accepted the invitation to read and pray about it. We have another appointment tomorrow with her and hopefully we can get her husband to sit with us this time...he wasn't too happy that we were there last time;)

One of my favorite appointments that we have every week is with an Inactive member named Bro Bröcker. He is awesome and has kind of a crazy story. He was earlier in the bishopric and was also an institute teacher in Kiel. He went through some stressful times and read some anti-mormon stuff online and has some issues now with the church. He has been inactive for 15 years or so but is still super friendly and loves us and the church. We usually meet every Friday. Elder Brower called ahead and told them that it was my birthday but I didn't know about this conversation. SO I got a surprise birthday cake from them and it was pretty sweet! I had a good birthday all in all. Another member family called us up around midday and invited us over for Pizza. They just said they had a feeling to call and invite us and had no idea that it was my birthday:) It was cool.

Well this week we have Zone Conference in Hamburg on Wednesday so that should be exciting. Sorry I will have to keep it a little shorter today as well. I had a ton of Bday emails to respond to. The pictures are just the weather that we have EVERY SINGLE DAY. It rains almost nonstop here which makes working really hard for us. People just aren't outside when it's raining and when they are they don't just want to stand there and talk. BUT there was a really cool full rainbow after a crazy storm the other day. You can't see the whole thing in the pic but it really was full. I really hope you have a great week! Love you all!
