Well yesterday was the third Advent and I would say it was a pretty good week overall! I don't have too much time so I will just jump into what we did this week;)
Last Monday we went to the market but we only had a few minutes until we had to leave but that was where I took all the pictures that I sent. We had an eating appointment that we had to get to so we didn't have as much time as we wanted and so this week we are going again! It's pretty good here in Langenhorn. We have an eating appointment with members almost everyday so ya it's pretty great:) The members are also just awesome with doing missionary work. We have street displays twice a month and the members organize the whole thing. We just show up and help them!
Tuesday we did some finding and then met with Josef, our investigator on baptismal date. We moved the date to the 10th of January. Me and Elder Smith prayed and both felt that it would be a good move but we both feel really good about him getting baptized. He has a really strong desire to change his life and it's cool to meet with a former Muslim. He doesn't like Islam because he said it breeds hate of other religions and cultures. But he said if we want he would take us to some mosques so that we can see and experience the Islam culture a bit. Even if we don't like a group we should still respect them. We finished the day with dinner with the Glenns.
Wednesday was our Zone Conference. It was a really good meeting but was kind of lame because there wasn't really any Christmas focus. Last year we watched 17 miracles and this year there was nothing. It was pretty much a normal meeting. It was still good but it is also nice sometimes to just be able to relax and forget about some of the stresses of missionary work...I did get the package though! It was very good! I even guessed correctly and opened the present that was the speaker. I left the other ones so that I would have something to open on the 25th. If there is something that I should open before than let me know!
For the rest of the week I'm going to combine it all. We ate with the Salzingers and the De Silvas. Sis Salzinger is from Martinique in the Caribbean. The De Silvas are from Honduras. They are all cool and made really good spicy food. Germans can't handle spicy food very well. We bought a hot sauce called "Hell Sauce" (which I thought was kinda funny) and it was supposed to be deadly hot but in the end it was kind of like a lame Tabasco sauce. We met with Bro Longnecker as well. He is from America but has lived here for 30 years. We visited him with the Bishop yesterday after we found out that he was in the hospital. He was diagnosed with Parkinsons a few weeks ago and is not doing super great so they are doing some more tests on him. It was really sad to see him kind of break down and to see how sad he is about his sickness. We really brightened up his day by stopping by. We went by some inactives as well with Bishop Fuchs. One of them got upset and gave the bishop a signed paper saying she wants to leave the church. SO basically our reactivation record this week was -1! Yay for one less member in the church! Not really though but that was the joke that he made with us. He is a great guy.
Well that was pretty much the week. I hope that you all had a great week and that this one is good too! I love you all and I pray for all of you! May the force be with you.
