Moin Family!
It was good to talk to you all yesterday even if it was a short amount of time. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures to send you because I forgot my camera at the apartment. I will have to send pics from Christmas next week. Sorry!
Well I kind of told you what I did for the last could of days yesterday but I'll just tell it all again:)
Well in Germany they have three days of Christmas. Christmas Eve(Heilige Abend) is the biggest day and then yesterday was 1st Christmas and today is 2nd Christmas. Why do they have 2nd Christmas? No idea. but why not have more holidays right? On Heilige Abend we went to the Dietzls in the morning. We ate breakfast and then helped them decorate their tree. It was fun and the food was good! We then had a Christmas Devotional at the church. It is kind of a cool thing they do here in Germany they have special meeting on Christmas Eve, kind of like the Catholic mass, where a couple people give talks and there is music played and sung. After that we went to the Roggows. We had a good dinner of Turkey with rotkohl and potatoes. It was delicious and then after dinner we had a white elephant gift exchange.
On Christmas day we opened our presents. The Germans open their presents on Christmas Eve but we felt that we should stay true to our stars and stripes. We went to the Hoffmans for lunch and ate some steaks with rotkohl and klöße with some apple pie and ice cream for dessert. We ate a lot of rotkohl but it's ok because I really like it. Germans make Barny's Tail different than in America. They steam it and cook it with apples(usually). Its super good. We then played a card game with all of them. They also each had a sibling (the Hoffmanns) who is less active that was there so that was pretty cool;) We finished the day at the Wolf's. They made this cool meal of a curry pineapple chicken sauce that you put into these croissant bowls. Josef was there too and then we watched a movie " The Nativity Story" with Josef and the family. It was pretty good and Josef learned a lot about the christmas story. Then I Skyped you guys!
That was pretty much the last few days in a nutshell. Today we are going to the Wittkops and the Wiekenbergs. Omid is coming with us to the Wittkops so that will be fun. Monday will be a normal P-Day again so I will email you again then:) I hope that you all had a good Weinachten! You should all tell me all the things that you received! Well I love you all and hope that your days are filled with awesomeness. Deuces!
