I hope that you all had a great week. Well it was a pretty legit week with Elder Aust. He is pretty awesome and we get along great. Elder Smith left on Tuesday and I picked up Elder Aust in the morning and then had an appointment with a member. It was pretty lame because we got off at the wrong bus stop and we couldn't find the house. We ended up being about 30 min late but it was super awesome how we found the street. When we couldn't find the street we called the members and asked them which bus we could take to get there the fastest and they told us but the bus didn't run for 40 minutes. I went up to a bus that was sitting there and asked the driver what the fastest way would be to get to the street we where looking for. He told us that we would have to go back to Langenhorn Markt and take the train and then walk. I knew immediately that he didn't quite understand which street we where looking for. The street was called "am Ochsenzoll" and there is a part of the city called Ochsenzoll. He was describing how to get to the part of the city. I had a strange impression that we should just get on the bus and everything would work out. It was like a calm voice saying "It's ok. Just trust me and get on." So we did. About two stops later I saw the street sign as we were driving past it and so we got off and finally found the appointment. It would have taken forever for us to find it had we not taken that bus. It was cool:)
Our investigators are doing good. Josef is back on Baptismal date for the 21 of Feb. Omid, our 20 year old Iranian is doing awesome. We had a pretty sweet experience with him. We were riding in the train with him on Friday and I had a thought pop into my head to ask him to come to church with a question. A question that was in his heart that he wanted an answer to. So I said to him " Alright, we have an assignment for you." he then said "haha, you want me to read something, don't you?" I replied with " No not necessarily." and then told him about the question thing and promised him that if he did it he would get an answer. He smiled and had a really deep look on his face. After a few seconds he said " I have a lot of questions. I didn't want to ask them either. I want to get an answer in a way like this." It was so cool because you could see that we had hit something good. My mind then thought back to the fact that he brought up reading. He has been kind of different lately and we haven't been able to have an appointment with him even though we have seen him at church and stuff. I asked him what he has read in the Book of Mormon. He smiled and said that he is over halfway through the book! What!!!???? We were not expecting that. Me and elder Aust were talking later and we both have the feeling that Omid is starting to realize, "Crap...I think this church is true...". It wasn't until after we found this out that I could put my finger on it and realize that he just seems much more contemplative lately, like the gears up there in his head are just turning a lot more than usual. We are taking it as a good sign.
Well thats all I have time for. I hope you all have a great week. I will send a small package of chocolate and Caitlyn's letter today. I am putting some more Milka bars and some Marzipan. The marzipan is the original expensive stuff as well;) I can send small packages for pretty cheap (like €3) if they are less than 500g so I will put that in the mail today. Am I doing it right?
These are all pictures of Josefs sheep. He has 6 sheep and we got to see and feed them:)
