Guten tag!

Nothing too crazy this week either! I wish I could write and tell you some crazy story that would blow your minds! But I can´t because I don´t have anything yet. Anyways, on Tuesday this last week we went with the sisters to meet on of their investigators that they want us to have. They can´t meet with him because he is an old man that lives alone and the rules won´t alow them to meet with him alone. He lives way out in the boonies though! It takes two trains and about a 30 min walk to get to his house. The crazy part is that is still in our area! Our area is huge but we just don´t have the ability to search the entire thing. The sisters found this old man when they were finding a referal out in that area. They said that he was just standing in his garden almost like he was waiting for them. When they said hello he said it back and they starting talking to him. He told them that he was inside and jusst felt like he should go outside and wait for someone. Pretty sick! He´s a way strong Evangalisch (Protestant) member but believes really strongly on Jesus which is a good and bad thing. It means they already have a backgrouond in Christian principles but they usually don´t want to hear that their version of Jesus isn´t complete:) He´s a pretty funny guy that talked about WWII( he´s way old but wouldn´t tell us exactlly how old!) and then when we left he tried to give us a ton of his food and other stuff. He said he would give us all watches but then he saw that we all had one already so then he gave us a salami and kiwis. He tried to give us a bunch of eggs from his own birds but we couldn´t carry them. Hopefully we can make it out to him more but it´s hard because it takes most of the day to just visit him. O well, the worth of every soul is great in the eyes of god.

On Wednesday we had Zone Training which was in Leipzig. It was actually in the old Leipzig mission office. It was alright but nothing life changing. We spent the rest of the day doing finding and contacts in part of Halle called Neustadt.

On Thursday we met with an less-active African family named the Ojo´s they were way cool and we actually got them to commit to come to church this Sunday and they came. They told us that they are moving to Münich next month though. After that we went Hometeaching with a member of tthe ward named Bruder Schindler. We visited a family named the Hennigs. He taught a good lesson and we´re hopefully going to start working towards getting them sealed in the Temple. It´s pretty crazy to me here. There are so many people who have not been to the Temple and just understand how important it is. There are many members who were baptised 15 years ago but have never been!

To finnish I´ll tell you a story that happened on Saturday. We were walking around Halle and all of a sudden this homeless and drunk guy starts yelling and chasing after us. We stopped, smiled at him and tried to calm him down so that we could understand him. He told us that he didn´t believe in god because his father and his best friend both died. He wanted us to give him an answer as to why, if there was a god, did he let them die. We sat down on a bench at a Straßebahn stop and tried to teach him about the Plan of Salvation and the Book of Mormon. He was drunk and was really hard to understand and didn´t listen very well but when we showed him the picture of Moroni praying and burying the golden plated in the Hill Cumorah he just burst out laughing. We asked him what was so funny and he said that Moroni was praying to a tree. He tried to explain that the important part were the golden plates. He still didn´t believe us and then took the picture around to about 5 people at the bahnstop and asked them what they thought the picture looked like. At this point we were all laughing! Anyways we gave him the Book of Mormon and then his friend came over and asked him if it was the Bible. He replied, ''Nein, Ich denke es ist besser. Es ist Mormonen!'' which means ''No! I think it is better. It´s Mormon!'' We just laughed and walked away.

Anyways that was pretty much the Highlights of my week! I hope you guys are doing good!I´ll try to answer a few of your questions real quick. To eat at members houses we normally have meat and either these noodle ball things or potatoes. If you ask Seth about the noodle ball things i´m sure he can remember and explain them. Other than that the food really isn´t super crazy. There are millions of little shops that sell döners, which are like a Gyro from Crown Burger but way better. I also eat from Bakeries a lot. They almost always have these little sandwhiches for about €2. There are about 45-60 active members in our ward here in Halle. For the Facebook thing all I´m doing right now is viewing the pictures that I already have. I don´t even have permission to use it yet and i´m not sure exactly how it will work but i´ll let you know when I do.

I think thats every thing! I love you guys!

Love,

Elder Trevor Bone
