This week was sadly pretty normal. But I guess I am on a mission so my life is way cooler than your lives;) haha ich witze nur. But really missions are pretty cool. Sorry the Emails took a while last week. I don´t know why it took forever to receive the last part. Oh well here is this weeks letter.
So last week for P-Day we went to Lutherstadt Wittenburg. This is the city that Martin Luther did most of his reformation work. It was here that he translated the Bible into German and it was here that he nailed his 95 thesis to the door of the Catholic church. It was a cool trip but it was pretty lame because the church was closed. They were doing construction on it and it wasn´t open to go inside when we got there. Hopefully i´ll get the chance to go back sometime on my mission. Or maybe later who knows.
On Tuesday we had a normal mission day. Did some SK in the morning and then later had a cool appointment with a man named Noel. He´s from Burkina Faso and speaks German and French. It was one of the coolest lessons I´ve been in so far on my mission. His oppinion and views of Churches and Religion actually taught me a lot. His perscpective was that churches are not the important part in the teachings of God and Christ. He doesn´t like Churches but rather likes the Idea of a a Gemeinde (The word that is used for ward). It made me realize something that I guess I already knew. Churches weren´t intended to be what the world has made them to be. The Lord has set up his Kingdom on the earth with the end goal of us all eventually living in one big family. It´s hard to describe how it felt to be taught by the spirit while listening to the words of someone who is not a member. I can´t fully describe it but know that once again missions are way cool;)
On Wednesday we had dinner with the Müllers. Sister Müller made tacos that were really good! She also took pictures and got our home addresses so you should probly be recieving a letter soon. Let me know when you get it!
The rest of the week was fairly average. We did doors and SK for a lot of the time. Oh on Saturday we took a train out to a town called Weißenfels to find a referral we got from the office. We went all the way out to the town only to find out that the street was either written wrong or it doesn´t exist. It was fun though we got to walk through a forest and we found and ate wild blackberries. I was sure that they were poisonous and that we were gonna die but we were alright and they tasted delicious.
Today for P-Day we got to meet a member from Elder Briners favorite area on his mission, Bruder Schlicke. He goes home in a week and so things are starting to get kinda crazy as we prepare so send him on to his next area, Home. It was a pretty cool day.
Well I think that was it. It´s been great to hear from you all and thanks for the Birthday wishes in advance. I love you guys and thanks for all the prayers and letters.
Love you!
Elder Trevor Bone
