Noch Eine Woche! September 30, 2013

Hallo meine Familie!

Another week has passed. It truly feels like only a few days ago I was writing my last email. It turned out that I was able to do P-Day today so here I am. This last week was good. It's interesting to read your emails and see that so much is changing back home. It's weird to think that the home I could come home to might be different than the home I left. Well I mean I know it will but it sounds like a lot is changing. It's kinda sad but I guess I'm just growing up.

I was also thinking of things that I "need." When you send me the deodorant It would also be nice to also get normal sized American Flag if If possible a Navy SEALs flag too:) again neither of these things are urgent so just put them in the next package you send( when I need something, Christmas, whatever). If I think of anything else I will let you know.

Anyways here was my week.

Last Monday we had the opportunity to give some service at this place with stuff for flood victims. They're basically trying to get rid of most of the stuff and ship it to bigger help centers because most flood stuff is pretty much wrapped up here. It was pretty cool. We jsut moved books and toys for most of the time.

On Tuesday we did a bunch of stuff in Coswig, a town pretty close to Meißen. At 18:00 we had to go on splits with a member of the ward. I went with Brother Ortlieb to visit the Familie Williams and Elder Bean went to the Familie Anderson. The familie Williams are super cool. He is from Great Britain actually and she is from Germany. They have 3 kids and are really nice. Brother WIlliams actually gave me this workout book written by a Special Forces trainer guy. I cant remember the name of the book but the guy is named Mark Lauren. It was really nice of him.

On Wednesday we had our normal District Meeting but it was actually here in Meißen. Afterwords we went to McDonalds together. Fast food is pretty expensive here and the dollar menu is nonexistent. The Euro menu unfortunately doesn't exist either. Anyways the exiting thing about the McDonalds here in Meißen is it has a drive through! haha it sounds funny but thats not common for restaurants here, including fast food. It also has free refills, another almost non-existent thing. Have to take advantage of free-refills when you can:) We also tausched that night so Elder Bankhead came back to Meißen with me. This is his first transfer too so it was kinda fun to talk with him about the MTC.

On Thursday me and Elder Bankhead wanted to do SK but it was raining too hard so we came back for lunch and then we had an appointment with a member in the branch name Sis. Pinkau. She´s really old and her husband is in the Hospital so we were just giving here some company. She was a really nice lady. It was also a little fun having to be the senior German speaker for Elder Bankhead. It definitely tested my abilities haha. We then did some stuff is Coswig again and then taushed back.

On Friday we didn´t do too much. We just did dome SK, Weekly Planning and that was pretty much it. We did talk with one guy on the street late at night and actually got an appointment set up for Tuesday! It was pretty unexpected because it was already really dark and there is a Wine festival going on here.

On Saturday we did some more work in Coswig and another town called Weinböhle.

Sunday was super cool. I love the church meetings here in Meißen! In Sunday school we watched part of 17 Miracles and it was super spiritual. It's funny because it`s not translated into German yet so a lot of the members couldn´t understand it but they still loved it and felt the spirit. It was a great church meeting.  We had an eating app with the Familie Kalkbrenner. IT was way good. Goulash with veggies and bread. Then Cherries with vanille sauce for dessert. Delicious:) Then we had a little mishap because we left our phone at the kalkbrenners. We spent most of the night trying to get ahold of them with the church phone and see if it was there so we could come get it. It took pretty much the rest of our night unfortunately.

That was pretty much my week. Sorry the Pictures are kinda lame too. I just didnt take as many this week. But they are kinda cool. The foggy ones were on the way to church yesterday. It was super cool. Well I thinks that´s everything. Ich habe sie alle lieb!
