Hallo meine liebe familie!
Well thats one more week down. THis transfer is flying by. This week will be the halfway point. It's kinda weird because me and Peterson have been talking about whether I will stay or not for another transfer. He offered the suggestion that maybe he was sent here to get be back up off my feet so that I could train next transfer. I said that I'm fine with whatever. It's crazy to me that I am already so far. Of course I still have a ways to go but the time is going faster than I thought it would go. Well I want to try to actually get to my week this time so here it is:)
On Tuesday last week we went to Moritzburg to go to an app with a lady we made but she wasn't home. We did SK for an hour and a half and then went back to the lady but she still wasn't home. I bought a Döner to make up for it though so it's ok. We came can and went by a few contacts here in Meißen and I actually sent a package home to you guys that night so I hope it gets to you before Christmas!!
On Wednesday we had District Meeting in the evening so we went by some more contacts and then had our study time. We then had a lunch app with the Ortlieb family. They are such an awesome family. The Germans are amazing members with such strong faith. It's super inspiring. American families are cool too haha Germans are just cool in a different way;) That night we had District Council and we talked about different ideas on how we can do finding more creatively and effectively. It was really helpful!
On Thursday we went to a small little town, like literally 30 houses, called Bockwen. It's a crazy story actually. So we got a referall like 2 months ago for someone living in a place called Bockwen. We looked forever on our maps and couldn't find it. Elder Peterson and I were doing planning and we said a prayer, asking god where we should work. Right after the prayer I looked at the map and within 10 seconds I saw this little teeny tiny town just south of Meißen. It took me a second to realize where I had heard the name but then I realized it! It was so legitimate:) We went by the contact and then had no interest but we know that we found the town for a reason and we will find it!
Friday was actually pretty crazy. There was a crazy storm. It wasn't even so much snow or rain it was jsut incredibly cold and too windy.The AP's told our Zone to stay inside if it was too bad so we spent most of the day inside cleaning and studying and what not. It was kind of a fun day ;)
On Saturday we spent most of our day helping with a move. This is actually a really sad and for me, heart wrenching story. It was the neighbor of one of the members
here in Meißen. She is a single mother of three kids. She left her husband because he was an alcoholic and now she can't afford to pay rent so she had to move to a smaller, unfinished house. It is two weeks before christmas and this poor family is in a house with a barely working bathroom, no shower, an almost finished kitchen and no beds. They had to lay out their mattresses on the floor and sleep that way. It was a crazy experience and yesterday in ward council our branch president, relaying this story to the rest of the group, through tears mind you, announced that our assignment to help this family is not over. It is kind of our ''branch project'' to help this family now. Oh man the people here are amazing. It's hard to express feelings like this through words but they are just the choicest of people.
For Sunday we had Church and then got to celebrate 2nd Advents with the Anderson family They are also such an amazing family. I know I say this about all of them but it's true! haha
Alright well that was pretty much my week! I have thought of a few things that I would like to ask for Christmas haha. I would really like the Sound of Music soundtrack. I know we have it so I don't know what the easiest way to do that is. You could send it too me through emails a couple songs at a time or so or if you can think of an easier way to do it then let me know:) Also next week we are going to the Dresden Christmas markt I would like to buy something but I don't know how much money I can take out:) Let me know a number or something and I will just take that much out! Oh and don't worry about the House haha. It's sad but everything is ok!:) Just make sure that I have an epic and legitimate place to come back too;) I don't know too much about how Skype and that whole thing will work but we will talk more next week. I also took some money out today to buy a new hat and gloves because it's been really cold. I also bought some other things like razors and what not:)
