Well once again we are here and another week has passed.Oh ya! Eine gesundes und gutes neues jahr wünsche ich ihnen! Thats pretty much what everyone has been telling us and I mean everyone! Thanks for the package too! We have a Zone Conference at the end of January so I should be able to get it there with no problems.
Transfers were also this last Saturday. Elder Peterson and me are staying here in Meißen for another Transfer. To be 100% honest I was kind of disappointed. I am kind of getting ready for a change of scenery. I just really feeI like I want to go somewhere else. I have no problems with Peterson. He's a great guy. But oh well. It's not where you serve but how, right?
So we had New Years this last week and it sounds like you guys had a great time! Well maybe mom was having some body problems but unless my memory is failing me I remember some people falling asleep at like 9pm last year too...cough*cough* parents:) Oh man New Years in Germany is insane. Like I think I said we had to be home by 6pm but it was already kind of scary before that. Everyone here lights off fireworks for New Years but fireworks are so cheap here and they have pretty much no laws on whats allowed and whats not. You can just buy like a full blown missile battery for like €40. That's a box that you light and it shoots, into the air mind you, like 350 fireworks in like a show or something. It's actually quite terrifying especially when pretty much everyone is drunk and lighting them off is the middle of the street all over the place. Everyone and their mother also have the ones that shoot up into the air and explode. Also scary. especially when they light them in between our building and the neighbors. There is about 20-30 yards between our buildings and when they explode about 10-15 feet above the level of your window it's freaking scary haha. And then there is the M80's. Other than the ones that shoot into the air that's what everyone has is small sticks of dynamite. at about 9-10 pm outside literally sounded like the middle of a game in Battlefield or Call of Duty. IT just sounded like gunshots and bombs going off everywhere. IT was literally one of the most insane things I've ever seen. There is a fairly large roundabout that you can see from our window and there were a bunch of drunk people there SHOOTING FIREWORKS AT EACH OTHER. And I don't mean roman candles I mean like small missiles that explode in huge bursts of fiery color. It was hilarious and kind of frightening at the same time! haha :) I don't know how more people don't die. I really don't.
But I am alive and here ready to work. We had a couple of appointments set up for this week. One of them went through and we had a good Joint Teach. Hopefully we can get this lady Mrs. Bauman to church. The other appointment was with a man named Mr. Donaubauer. He called us the morning of our app and cancelled. He said he would call us when he had more time but that right now was just not good. It was kinda disappointing but we will get him back on track;)
On Saturday we did Finding as a zone, all in our respective areas, but at the same time. While we were doing it we saw a lady through her window and waved at her. She waved back and came to the window to talk to us. We talked to her for a minute and then told us that she had been in the hospital with cancer. She said that while she was there some men dressed like us came and talked with her about Jesus and then promised her that she would recover and be healthy again. She is now healthy and thanks God everyday for her health. It was super crazy and awesome to hear her story. She said she has no time but that we can come by later. We're pretty excited about it:) Yay Windowing!
Well I hope that I gave a good report of the week. I tried to hurry but also tried to give you an overview of my week. I have Included some pictures of the aftermath of the mighty battle that took place on new years. Those pictures were all taken the next night and yes there are still just fireworks all over the place. The other picture is me sitting on a chair that was just there in the middle of the street. We found it in the exact position that it is in. It was a perfectly executed opportunity.
Well I love you all. I hope that you all have a great week! Germany is awesome and life is good in the service of the Almighty God of the Universe and his son Jesus Christ. Spirit Guide you and may the force be with you!
Elder Trevor Bone
